Did you sleep well?
Do you feel exhausted despite a full night's sleep, wake with headaches or shortness of breath, or find it hard to concentrate during the day? If any of this sounds familiar, it could be a sign that your sleep isn't as restorative as it should be. Studies show that about 30% of men and 15% of women aged 30 to 70 meet the criteria for at least mild sleep apnoea symptoms. Many of these people don't know they have it, and sometimes it's a partner who first notices that your breathing isn't quite right when you sleep.
Sleep Apnoea
Sleep apnoea is a condition where breathing repeatedly slows or stops during sleep. These interruptions can happen hundreds of times each night, often without you knowing. When this happens, your body misses out on the deep, restorative sleep it needs to recover and function at its best.
The good news is that sleep apnoea is often treatable. For many people, a personalised treatment plan can improve breathing during sleep, reduce snoring, and help you wake feeling more refreshed.

Your pathway to better sleep
What treatment will look like
Treatment starts with a simple home sleep test measuring oxygen levels and heart rate. Once the sleep test is complete, a sleep physician will study it. They'll assess if you have sleep apnoea and rule in and out different treatment options, so you aren’t left guessing. You'll receive a written report with a recommended treatment option.
One of the most common treatment options is a custom-made oral device called a Mandibular Advancement Splint (MAS). Worn while you sleep, the device gently supports the lower jaw forward. This helps keep the airway more open, making it easier to breathe and reducing the vibration that causes snoring.
How does MAS treatment work?
The Mandibular Advancement Splint (MAS) offers an effective alternative to sleeping with a CPAP machine every night.
A MAS is custom-made for you. We begin with a digital scan of your teeth to create a precise fit, then carefully adjust it over time to ensure it is both comfortable and effective. Most people adapt to wearing it within a short period, and because it's small, quiet and easy to travel with, it's often much easier to use consistently than a CPAP machine.
With proper care, a custom MAS is designed to last for many years and is effective for treating mild to moderate sleep apnoea. If your sleep study shows severe sleep apnoea, CPAP is generally the most effective treatment and is likely to be recommended. Our role is to help you understand your results and guide you towards the treatment that best suits your needs.
